Thanks! I am curious as to why have someone help you get your char through ascention when you could simply create the level twenty char anyway? This was the underlying reason for the previous question. It seems that If you can create a lvl 20 right off the bat, then why not go that route instead of the five plus hours of running through the map to get to that point? Especially if your goal is PvP!

I was looking for something completely different using the Search and I came across this thread. What are the odds? Much of what I saw here is actually news to me. How truly informative. Well, since I am here, let me throw my two cents.

It seems to me that you have to go through PVE in order to be able to unlock good equipment and Elite Skills as well (someone correct me if I am wrong, please).

Now, I understand what the issues discussed here are but what can you do? Give yourself a heart attack over it? If people want to waste their money buying multiple copies of a game just so they can have their guild names posted on a website, it's their loss. There is something to be said about people who need this kind of attention but it's not even worth mentioning it.

Now, about the subject of low levels running around Ascension sites and surroundings like happy baby grawls on holiday season, I would find it very amusing indeed. I never saw one but I would laugh hard for sure if I did. It might really be a bit annoying I will give you all that much but if the game allows it, it's not really cheating now, is it?

Before anyone sends me Hate messages or something, let me make something clear. It's not that I agree with them. I just don't really care, although I understand those who do.

I have been playing with my first character for quite some time and I have not finished the PVE part yet because I am really, really taking my time exploring everything I possibly can and acquiring all the skills for my character. Even though I am at a Town that it's the next thing after Drognar's Forge or whatever that city after Dragon's Lair is called I know that it will be a while before I am done with exploring and whatnot and why is that? Because that's what is fun to me and that's what the game should be all about because if it's not, why bother playing it in the first place?

One solution could be to really separate PVP and PVE players who also wish to play PVP in two different Ladders and perhaps a Third one where both kinds of players could compete together. The PVP only could have all the skills and stuff on their ladder and kill each other leaving everybody else alone, the PVE would be able to compete against people who think like they do and if strikes anyone's fancy, everybody could go to the third ladder and compete together. Most complaints could be solved this way. There always are the greedy ones who would try to dominate all the ladders but that can't be helped and I didn't give this idea much thought really but it's a start.

In the end, it's all about fun and things like this should not prevent anyone from enjoying the game because it would be a shame. There will always be someone trying to have it easy and as long as the game allows it, that will be done time and again.

Negative Zero, Positive Zero etc etc. If you honestly play thru the missions and get to Augury Rock a little early, fine.

Having a bunch of 20s rush you thru and ascending at level 3 or 4 is totall bullshit and cheats the whole premise of the game and the story. Flame on it won't change my mind. Yes this is my opinion, you don't have to agree with it.

If you don't agree , give me valid reasons why. Not BS like I already did 2 chars the right way and I'm bored. I have 3 chars ascended so far and none had any help to cheat the system.

it changes the game in no way...instead of creating a pvp character these people do it the fun way

and you have not ascended a level 3...try to do it and see how hard it really is...then you will know why this game is about skill

lol maegi... gj... where were you when the dude was being flamed to death for suggesting that he was getting owned by people in the lvl 10 and under arena by people who had been twinked... man, they tore him up. Now you talking about being sick of "seeing" level 3's and 4's in Augery... that's more than just paranoid suspicion... got screenshots?

I don't really see the point in rushing ascention, it wastes what... 5 hours of several guild members time to do the entire rush, assuming it is flawless? And even then, enjoy fighting your clone at lvl 8 when your clone criticals 90% of the time. Seriously, the game only takes about 30 hours to get ascention normally, I did it on my second character in 32, and I'm Canadian, no Korean leveling powers here!

Power leveling is lame i will agree...but i dont care so long as by the time they are high enough level that i group with them they know how to play the char...that was my biggest problem with many mmorpgs(players at high levels going umm how do i heal again is really agrivating lol)...But GW is much better with skill descriptions than many games...so unless they are illiterate there should be no reason they should have to ask whats this skill do? And i would like to point out...it cant be considered cheating as long as its no against the rules

As stated already, it's not the Ascension run that is too much of an issue. After that run they end up lev 20 and do not harm anyone.
It's the run to Drognar's Forge that I see as a problem.

Example: I have played the game through a few times now and have a storage account full of equipment and more plat than I can ever use. So lets see how I can use this to grief other players who are enjoying the game for the first time.
I can create a new alt or if my friend makes one.... Run them down to Drognar's Forge. (Just leave them at the zone edge while me and my mates do the crazy sprint from zone to zone). Then go shopping!
Some of the towns near Drognar's are very easy to get too compared with the Drognar run anyway, so hey! If I have the plat lets go big time shopping!!

I have seen (I will take screen shots next time) people in the lev 1-10 arena with 75k armour and Chaos weapons.

I personally have a way to combat them. If I join into a fight and they are on MY side. Then I drop and let them fight 1 vs 4. - They can often beat 1 vs 4 but at least I give the 4 a chance!

That was me!

People love to feel superior to others and have this 'put me down' attitide. It's ok, it's just human nature. It's a way that we find our place in a group to find out who is the alpha member and has prime breeding rights!
That's cool. I can see why they feel the need to put me down.

But just to let you know, I was not complaining about being owned. In fact I switched to an alt that would shut down the 'griefer' and give the teams I joined a chance. (Which I did very successfully).
My point was to raise awareness of a practice that has started to happen that is not healthy.
I am glad some people remember my post (no matter in what context). So I consider my post a success!

Default ok, now this is just pathetic... ^_^

It's quite disheartening and sad about some people's lack of good sportsmanship and skill...

I fought a chaos axe wielding warrior woman [who I think is a guy with some 'must stare at woman in my game' issues] in the Ascalon lvl 10 arena with a LVL 6 MESMER/NECRO...

Raped she was... I'm certain she had some uber end armor cause I noticed a knight's helm on her head.

"A game based on skill, not hours played..."

The hilarious thing was, I was the lowest level char on my team, who said "damnit, you non lvl 10 people shouldn't be here..."

Hell yeah did I shut those phuckers up... I love mesmer power now

I find it quite amusing that you're complaining about both rushed ascention and duped guilds at the top of the ladder.

Why is most of the top 10 duped guilds? Because there's a large gap at the top due to lack of competition, so those top guilds have to make dupes just to get a game.
Why is there a large gap at the top? Because a majority of the competitive PvP guilds don't want to enter into the ladder until they have an almost complete selection of skills and runes for a good majority of members, becuase you need that to have serious competition.
Why are people rushing ascention? So the can quickly unlock as many skills as possible and get into GvG, hence solving the duped guilds on the ladder situation.

So which do you want? Duped guilds and a lack of competition on the ladder, or people rushing through PvE content? I know which I want, and that's why my next few characters will be ascending at lvl 5.

You know I just dont get why people always have something to say about what other people are doing.

This whole thread reminds me of when I was 15 and my parents would get something for me and my sister would piss and moan untill she got whatever it was also.....

I guess I will just sit back and be thankful I couldnt care less what any of you do. When I log on I have a good time and have not spent a milli second bothering myself with what ANY of you are doing.

Mb some of the poeple here could take a lesson on that? Everyday I see a new thread about scamming, cheating, ect, ect, ect, ect. 90 percent of the issues I read about never have any adverse effect on the poster anyhow.

As I think about it further it reminds me of what I was hearing on talk radio monday where they were talking about how the kids today got no guts, no spine and are products of this liberal mindset that they are somehow owed something for nothing. If I was the father of the kid that made the original post, I would cane him.

I cant believe this thread is still running.

Is what they are doing directly affecting your personal game experience? You play the game how you want to, others play it the way they want to. You paid your money for the game and they paid theirs.

while i think the OP has a valid complaint in that he feels that people are cheating the system...thats understandable

but what are they cheating, the short PVE game...to get to the main part of PVP, where they havnt gained any advantage except opening the whole map quickly to explore for items/equip

in the PVE sense of the game, i see it as a cheap
in the PVP sense of the game, i see it as just a way to cut out a little of the 'grind'

if you've got one chracter that's already completed the game and are working on a second character...it makes perfect sense to rush 'ascension'...I can imagine the monotony of doing the same quests over and over again with every character would force you to eventually give up and play something new.

I still beg the question 'how does this affect you?'

going anywhere far like augory rock or draks is just because of lazines...now i know some of you are trying to get skills or w/e...but from my experience...if your trying to get skills and such..than why do u sit in town and talk about u being of such low level and how u got here? And no im srry..anyone who says they ran to draks or aug solo is a complete liar..id pay to see that...if u have the skills to do it, then do it...but by all means..dont feel like ure better than anyone else...bc ure not..just another player in the game...nothing more..not uber...not "elite" nuthin..if ure anything ure prolly lazy..not wanting to do all the missions just bvc u wanna unlock a couple skills..bah LOL u people
